that’s my main goal, to capture the moment as it is, and not like it’s a set up photoshoot

Mallory & Nolan

  • Nolan had reached out a few weeks before their weekend trip to Montréal with the sweetest plan: he wanted to propose to Mallory during their getaway. Something sweet, organic, intimate — no grand gestures. The idea of documenting it on film felt just as honest and imperfectly perfect.

I helped him find a quiet little spot surrounded by the soft echo of water gliding by — right in the heart of the city, yet tucked away from the noise and the onlookers. One of those places where the world feels like it pauses for a second. I still wonder how long it stopped spinning for them.

It felt special, so I tuned in with my Rolleiflex and documented the heart of their story on medium-format film, with a few 35mm frames to complete the set.

A sweet Montréal chapter — simple, soft, and exactly right for them.
