we want to remember this day as joyous, filled with love and surrounded by all those most important to us

Imani & Nicholas

  • Imani and Nicholas had moved to Vancouver a year before we met. They’d fallen for the city — where water meets mountains, the slower rhythm, the way weekends always seem to lead outdoors.

They wanted their wedding to reflect that — simple, curious, surrounded by nature and their people. So they reached out from across the country, and I flew in from Montréal to bear witness. My first time on the West Coast, and I immediately understood their love affair. I also knew I wouldn’t stay away for long.

It was a bright, sunny day by the Harrison River. The air was warm, the grand cedars still, and laughter carried easily across the grass. Everything moved at its own pace — nothing rushed, nothing staged. Their love for film showed in how they moved through the day — unguarded, a little imperfect, open to whatever came.

Photographed on 35 mm and digital, this memory box follows that same rhythm: candid, sunlit, full of fleeting moments that linger quietly after they’re gone.
